Habit Forming
Habit forming is a major part of our clients’ success with the programs at Shakti Health. Lifestyle change can be very overwhelming and can create a lot of mental discomfort but, by allowing a slow transition in the creation of a solid foundation, these changes will soon become "normal" and the bad habits that were once there will be replaced by a new, healthy, maintainable way of life.
Our six-month habit forming program consists of a new habit being introduced in your lifestyle every 14-21 days, depending on your consistency and results. Once this new habit has been mastered, another new habit will be added. By not bombarding you with unattainable expectations, the transition into a new way of living will be smooth, comfortable, and successful.
The concepts we will be working with include:
-Drinking 3-4L of water everyday. This may seem like A LOT of water, and it is, especially compared to what you may be used to drinking. Most people are actually dehydrated. By drinking enough water, your body is better able to function the way you need it to.
-Eating 5-6 small meals everyday, every 2.5-3 hours. By eating smaller, more frequent meals, your body's blood sugar levels remain stable and your metabolism is constantly revved to burn, burn, burn.
-Prepping meals ahead of time. By being prepared with healthy meals on hand, you will be less likely to skip meals and binge later in the day or, worse yet, reach for those all too easy to find JUNK FOODS.
-Incorporating complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and lean proteins into every meal. -Incorporating plant-based protein sources into your diet.
-Getting AT LEAST 30 mins of physical activity daily.
-Incorporating more local, organic, sustainable foods into your diet and, in turn, reducing your intake of refined, sugar-laden, preservative-filled foods.
