5 simple ways to make Fun lunches for kids

Picky eaters can be a handful, but instead of fighting with your kids about what they eat, use these simple lunch box ideas to keep their bellies full and a smile on their little faces. Your little one won’t be trading lunch snack any longer.

#1) Cut out sandwiches and food with fun shapes. You can use cookie cutters or you can find special cutters specifically made for sandwiches at most supercenters. Best part is, they cut off the crust!

#2) Use fun containers, Cupcake holders, colourful toothpicks etc. to make the display of food in the lunch box EXTRA enticing.

#3) Every thing tastes better on a stick. Make shish kabobs using a wooden skewer. You can make fruit skewers, veggie skewers, or even meat and cheese skewers. Heck the whole lunch can be eatin off a stick!

#4) Put notes or jokes in the lunch box. As kids get older those “I Love You” notes can be a little embarrassing (so sad), but I don’t know any kid who doesn’t enjoy a cheesy joke or a funny picture. I like to write on the peel of my daughters bananas or around Halloween, I draw jack-O-Lantern faces on her mandarin oranges. Note: only draw on non-edible peels. You don’t want Billy licking “Sharpee” off his apple!

#5) Get your kids involved! Let your kids choose some fruits and veggies that they love when out grocery shopping, make lunches together. You can also bake healthy snacks as a family and freeze for easy treats on the go. Getting your kids involved with their meal prep gives them a sense of pride and makes them more excited to eat their creations. Plus, by teaching them these life skills, they will me more capable of taking care of themselves when they are older.
